Description
Exploiting the laws of Quantum Mechanics, the Physical theory that describes the microscopic world, Quantum Computers bring a novel paradigm of computation. These devices address hard problems for classical computers, with applications to science, industry, and computer science. This project develops a coherent Quantum annealer, a particular class of a Quantum Computer, using superconducting qubits. To better understand and exploit the possibilities of Quantum devices, the project develops a collection of simulation tools enabling the study of the dynamics of Quantum systems of many particles.
Objectives
- To fabricate supercomputing devices hosting multiple qubits used coherently to perfom Quantum annealing.
- To create a simulation platform for Quantum systems using Bohmian Mechanics.
- To develop a service to perform Quantum simulations on the cloud.
