First edition of the Master in Quantum Science and Technology
Last Friday the first edition of the Master in Quantum Science and Technology was symbolically launched, with a welcoming ceremony for the participants at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Barcelona. Chaired by Bruno Julià, professor at the University of Barcelona and coordinator of the Master the objective of the event was to communicate the general lines of the studies and to facilitate that the registered people meet before the start of the classes. This first edition has 34 students, 30% women.
The activity on Friday had the first part to explain to the students the general lines of the studies, in charge of Bruno Julià, and in the presence of teachers and members of the Master’s Coordinating Committee, as Eugeni Graugés, dean of the Faculty of Physics, who also gave a presentation. Then, ICREA Professor at ICFO Hugues de Riedmatten gave a 30-minute scientific talk, called “Entangling Crystals for Quantum Information Networks”.
The presentation of the Master of Quantum Science and Technology concluded with a networking session with an aperitif, sponsored by QuantumCAT. This moment of relaxation took place in the Solar Atrium, the shared open courtyard of the Faculties of Physics and Chemistry.
